Happy New Year! It’s winter here in the northern hemisphere and cold in SE Michigan. Our Christmas snow melted from a very warm January thaw, but temperatures are back to normal and heading down soon.
The challenge for this month is to spend some time outside and simply observe what winter is like where you live. How many bird species stay around? What kinds of mammals are still active. If you live in warmer spots, what is there less of this time of year? Perhaps there is no observable change at all. Still, it is a good exercise to notice what life is like during the seasons. Go outside, breathe the brisk air (if it is brisk) and take your Vitamin D supplement.
